Homemade Nestle Crunch

I never thought it would ever be possible to eat my favorite candy bar again without all of the not so healthy ingredients.  Most store-bought candy bars contain many ingredients that are allergenic with no nutritional value and full of GMO’s.  The carbs alone in a candy bar might give you a quick burst of energy, but that will quickly fade away and leave you in a brainfog and feeling sluggish.


Don’t be fooled when you hear that chocolate is good for you.  While this is partially true, not all chocolate is created equal.  Milk chocolate does not have the same nutritional value as dark chocolate.  To get the benefits or antioxidants that dark chocolate contains it should be no less than 70% cocoa.  If it has any milk or soy lecithin in it, then it’s not considered dark chocolate and will not have those great antioxidants.


I can’t begin to explain how yummy these are.  They are so much better than store bought and both my kids think so too.  I got 4 thumbs up from my picky kids on these.  They are very rich and a little goes a long way to curb that chocolate craving.


1 bag of Enjoy Life Chocolate Chips
1 tsp of coconut oil
3/4 cup of Erewhon Crispy Brown Rice Cereal(Gluten Free)

Microwave 1 bag of chips (10 ounce bag) and 1 teaspoon of coconut oil until melted. It doesn’t take long. Microwave one minute, stir, and then microwave for about 30 seconds more if needed. Stir well until smooth. Note that Enjoy Life chocolate chips don’t have emulsifiers which is why you add the coconut oil.

Add 3/4 cup of Erewhon crispy brown rice cereal to the chocolate and stir. Spread the mixture into a pan lined with parchment paper. Refrigerate for about 15 minutes until it hardens.  Store in refrigerator.
It doesn’t get any easier than that.
